Project Locations

Schwab Volunteer Week projects were scheduled in cities where Schwab has the highest concentration of employees. Locations included:

 

Volunteers helping out in the community 

Austin, TX

Schwab employees teamed up with Junior Achievement to provide personal finance lessons and an overview of the core elements of smart money management at Hart Elementary School in Austin. Employees also harvested produce on the organic farm at YouthLaunch's Urban Roots program (pictured), performed general landscaping and building maintenance at LifeWorks, replanted flowers along at nature trail at Austin Children's Shelter, and assembled tote bags for homeless children for Project Night Night, among other projects.

Denver

Working with Junior Achievement, Schwab employees provided personal finance lessons at Our Lady Catholic School and Manny Martinez Middle School in Denver, and at Iowa Elementary School in Aurora. Denver area employees also helped prepare for the upcoming camp season at Easter Seals Colorado-Rocky Mountain Village (pictured) and cleaned up two Boys & Girls Clubs facilities. Other volunteers served meals to the homeless at Denver Rescue Mission and to youth at Urban Peak and volunteered at Family Homestead, Girls, Inc., and Project Night Night.

Richfield, OH

 With a focus on financial fitness, Schwab employees joined Junior Achievement to provide money management lessons at Gracemount School in Cleveland. Volunteers also prepared meals at The Salvation Army in Akron (pictured), helped build a house for Habitat for Humanity, and pitched in at Boys & Girls Club of Akron. Other projects benefited the Battered Women's Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties and Project Night Night.

San Francisco Bay Area

Approximately 700 Bay Area employees participated in Schwab Volunteer Week, benefiting approximately 29 nonprofits that work to improve the financial well-being of individuals and families. Among these was San Francisco City Impact, which helps rebuild the lives of people in the Tenderloin District. Volunteers also beautified the grounds of Oakland's Elizabeth House for women with children, helped disadvantaged women pick out clothing for job interviews at Dress for Success, participated in a Habitat for Humanity build, and served lunch to people in need at Glide Memorial Church.
